The IKEA band is back!

The legendary band behind the 1996 album _Planets, Rivers and... IKEA_ is reuniting, with a setlist built around the album’s electric material – but, of course, the music doesn’t stop there. The concert will also feature highlights from the rest of Bendik’s catalogue that fit into this musical universe, where pop, rock, jazz and improvisation come together to create something magical.

In a rare moment, some of Norway’s finest musicians have managed to clear their schedules at the same time. During the 1980s and 1990s, Bendik Hofseth reigned as the king of the Norwegian jazz saxophone scene, while also contributing to much of the country’s pop music. One of many career highlights came in 1987, when he took over from Michael Brecker in Steps Ahead, earning Hofseth an audience far beyond Norway’s borders.

Over the years, Bendik Hofseth has released several albums under his own name and has also produced records for artists including Jan Eggum and Kenneth Sivertsen. Now he is back, newly appointed as a Knight, and performing to a sold-out Opera House audience – as energetic as ever.
