WAJDI RIAHI piano BASILE RAHOLA bass PIERRE HURTY drums
The Tunisian-born, Brussels-based pianist Wajdi Riahi is one of the exciting new names within the Belgian jazz scene. In addition to being active as a sideman in several projects – Stéphane Galland's Rhythm Hunters, Aleph Quintet, Fabrice Allemand – the fantastic talent has stirred attention with his own trio. His music reflects his Arabic roots, blended with his later love for jazz and the vibrant atmosphere of Brussels, where he takes us on a journey through a virtuosic yet simultaneously vulnerable and poetic landscape, with music that touches both earth and sky. A beautiful and melodic piano trio that takes the format in a new and exciting direction.
