Drummer, percussionist, gong master, composer, and bandleader Paal Nilssen-Love has created brand-new music for a brand-new band of musicians with strong ties to Western Norway — a new West-Norway Jazz Ensemble! Paal has taken time to assemble the band and has settled on eight fellow musicians. Some of them are well known to him, while others he has never played with before — a completely new and exciting constellation of strong voices, musicians with backgrounds in classical music, contemporary music, noise, and jazz.

Just as snowboarders push the limits of what is possible with daring tricks, Paal will also push both his compositional abilities and his fellow musicians to the extreme, with the aim that the audience is left with the feeling: “What on earth just happened?”
