Samora Pinderhughes is an American pianist, composer, vocalist, and activist known for his strong social engagement and genre-defying projects. His music blends jazz, classical music, and hip-hop influences, while addressing systemic issues such as incarceration, racial injustice, and violence. He is the creator of The Healing Project, a multimedia initiative exploring the effects of mass incarceration, and has received widespread critical acclaim for the 2022 album Grief —which was included on The New York Times’ list of Best Jazz Albums. A world-class melodic storyteller, he uses his music to raise political questions and advocate for change.
