Virtuoso vibraphone!
Rasmus Lagerberg is a Norwegian jazz vibraphonist with a background from the Grieg Academy and the Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam, inspired by the post-bop of the 1960s and contemporary acoustic jazz scenes, both in the United States and Norway. In May 2025, the Rasmus Lagerberg Quartet released their debut album East and West, an album that reflects the vibraphonist’s development as a musician in Bergen over recent years. Since the release, Lagerberg has been based in the Netherlands pursuing a master’s degree in performing jazz at the Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam. The band performs pieces from *East and West* alongside new music Lagerberg has developed since then. With compositions inspired by Keith Jarrett, Wayne Shorter, and Joel Ross, he writes melodic, intricate, and dynamic music, and for this concert he is joined by the exceptional saxophonist Hanna Paulsberg.
