SATURDAY 6 JUNE

USF VERFTET

Deeply missed, never forgotten...

After more than ten years, the trio KNYST finally returns, reviving the same concept as before. Small compositions serve as springboards for playing, making music, and lifting each other up, with forms drawn from the 1940s, much of the material from the 1960s, while the content and improvisations are rooted in our own time.

It is virtuosic and jazzy, with clear tendencies toward freer excursions—but above all, it is groovy and swinging. We’re talking long saxophone solos without repetition, supported by a driving and creative rhythm section that just keeps giving. This is the musical ground these three share—their roots, their origin. This is where they feel at home, and it’s impossible not to be drawn into the warmth.
