When Hanna Paulsberg was commissioned to write the commissioned work for Vossa Jazz in 2024, she went back to her very first musical kicks for inspiration. She still remembers the moment her father put on Little Village, and the joy of hearing Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Nick Lowe, and Jim Keltner play Do You Want My Job?—a track she kept in mind while composing the music.

The result is a bubbling cauldron of elements from New Orleans music, folk, blues, Latin, and rock, with one clear common thread: everything grooves! As a bonus, we also get brand-new music from the band. Through projects such as GURLS, Flukten, a Dexter Gordon tribute with Karin Krogh, and Trondheim Jazzorkester, Hanna Paulsberg has established herself as an important voice on the Norwegian jazz scene.
