A project that started as commissioned music for the dance company Vindhäxor, but has since taken its own path – although it is still influenced by the idea of setting music to movement. The result is minimalist, groove-based music that builds slowly, with mantra-like repetitions, melodic improvisations, and a rich variety of electro-acoustic textures. The music blends ethereal prog rock and driving minimalism – as much Philip Glass and Steve Reich as Weather Report and Miles Davis – where the soloists have plenty of space to move. Kajfeš himself handles both electronically manipulated and acoustic trumpet, as well as swinging Moog improvisations. For this occasion, the quartet has been expanded with string players.
