ANTHONY JOSEPH with band
After the success of his album *The Rich Are Only Defeated When Running for Their Lives*, poet Anthony Joseph has taken a new step into jazz – this time by giving the music an Afro-futuristic touch, where his Caribbean poetry is accompanied by funk and neo-soul. A new album produced by Dave Okumu is coming in January! He continues to split his life as a poet, author, musician, and intellectual, and since his last appearance at the festival, he has won the T.S. Eliot Prize for the autobiographical poems in *Sonnets for Albert*. On stage, he delivers his lyrics in a uniquely melodic way – with an intensity and clarity that no one can match.
