Alfredo Rodriguez was barely twenty when he was invited to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival, where he was discovered by none other than Quincy Jones, who later produced his debut album. He last graced our festival in 2013, when he nearly set the venue on fire with the wildest version of *Guantanamera* ever performed. The formidable piano talent has a distinct style where he blends extreme technique with passionate, fiery emotion – the result is a fusion of jazz and Cuban music that leaves you unsure whether to gape, dance, or find someone to kiss. Accompanying him is a solid rhythm section that adds firepower to the fireworks.
